Things are looking up. My mojo is holding and I'm having fun working on Boys Story. Sunday I got to work piecing the Alien block.
Take a look at that shiny new window pane in my craft room. You can actually see what's outside now. The Double Glazing man came out last week and replaced all the 'blown' units including this one. It's much brighter in here now.
Sunday wasn't all about playing with fabric. My Mum came over for a painting lesson. Boy... you know how folks warn you about teaching relatives to drive.... well the same should apply to painting. Wasn't as bad as it could have been though we both lived to tell the tale......
Once Picasso had settled in I carried on stitching......
and finished the block. Here's how the whole quilt is looking now....
Just the Dog block to fit in the bottom corner and I'm working on that one. So near eh!
It's a sunny day in Scotland.... for a change! Work on the front of the house is under way.....
Can't tell you how good it feels to have help with the maintenence. I can't wipe the grin off my face... feels like all my Christmas's have come at once. Yeh... that good!!
One of my favourite flowers is beginning to bloom....
it's an Astrantia... also know as Hattie's Pincushion. An appropriate flower for a stitcher eh.
Lastly...... Mac hasn't been well enough to do a second rotavation on his veggie bed......
but there is a nice crop of 'green manure' there now ready to be plowed in. I offered to rotavate for him but he won't let me. He's convinced I'll be minus my toes if he lets me loose with the machine.
That's about it for today. Hope you all feel as happy and content as I do right now..... amazing how watching men at work can perk a gal up isn't it!
See ya soon.... have fun
Hugs
Josie

Great to hear your mojo is well and reinstated. Your BS is looking really great - so close..... Nice that your Mum came over to paint; I'm sure it was very companiable. I love that Astrantia - I haven't seen that (I don't think). We have a Scabiosa that is also called a pincushion flower. If I had a garden path leading up to my cave a mix of these two would be something to plant for sure. Your house looks like it catches the sun beautifully - it's always good to have a spruce up.
I love your colours in Boys Story... it is a quilt that always gives me a smile.... I'm looking forward to doing it myself..... your place is looking lovely... getting ready for the warmer weather?

Great work on your BS quilt, not long to go now! Your house looks lovely and I love the pincushion flower, I hadn't heard of it before. I hope Mac is ok and the warmer weather helps. Hugs Wendy

Sounds like you are having a great day. Love the yard and all the green and flowers. Especially love the quilt with all the fun things to look at.
Sometimes when i'm with my mum, I think i must be adopted,....

Beautiful flower, in Dutch we call it Zeeuws knoopje.
'Zeeuws' is a part of The Netherlands, and 'knoopje' is button.
You can read everything about it here, maybe you can translate it,....

I feel the excitement building - your quilt top is nearly done! You have such a fantastic property. We live in a town of about 85,000 people and lately I have been wanting to move to the country and have some property. My husband does not want to move so here we stay!
I enjoyed the photos you shared and had a grin when I read about the painting lesson. What a nice house and I know you'll be happy once the work is completed.
