Who had a plan?

ME!!   I did!  I had a great plan to put together another block of my BOM today.  This block....

... it looked do'able to me.   Ever the optimist!

Got off to a poor start when I cut the triangles for the geese in the centre star block from the wrong fabric.   Just a slight hitch.... and it was only the triangles.     Maybe it was a warning that all was not well with my brain today.  Maybe I should have heeded it!   Nah.... onwards and upwards!

I was feeling invincible.  Full of confidence that I had the skill set to beat this block into submission.  Until I did this.......

What can I say except..... DUH!!    That'll teach me to feel smug coz I didn't unpick anything yesterday.

Spent ages cutting diamonds and 45 degree angles pointing every which way.  Wish I'd spent more time listening and less time looking out of the window during geometry class.   Would have saved a few brain cells from extinction today.

This is where I'm at right now......  and I'm exhausted.

So is Licky Lou (Liquorice).   It seems cats are no good at geometry either.  She did try bless her but it all got too much for her.  Right now she's comatose and I'm not far behind her.

I thought you might like to see  the Master Plan.....

I'm either going to be a better piecer.... or completely bald by the time I finish this.

I'll leave you with something much more calming.....

Better than strong drink eh!

Till next time

OH NO! I think next time when you cut out something wrong.... walk away and come back later!! I've had days like that and it's just resulted in LOTS of unpicking!! ;) Vignette is much more calming! I'm hoping to have my block 1 finished in the next few days!

That is by far the most complicated quilt I've ever seen! Good luck with it LOL

Oh my goodness, you write with such play! I love, love your writing, and since I'm an English teacher from 8 a.m. till 3ish p.m., I read lots already. Unpicking, what a fun word!

definitely a kindred spirit to me with the right side wrong side thing... my most recent fun... cutting a flying geese unit (with a specialty ruler no doubt) and ending up with something that looks like a house instead of an arrow head.

And I always (and I mean always) try to stitch after winding on bobbin thread without putting the machine back to moving the needle so it just whirrs :) - and I think oh yeah, I always do that, but I haven't learned yet LOL
