It's hot...hot...hot

Summer has finally arrived in Scotland.    Now we all get to complain about the heat...  that makes a change.    I'm melting as we speak and believe me that's not a pretty sight.

I've been working myself to a frazzle in the wilderness garden from dawn till dusk ever since the good weather showed up.  It's essential to do that here coz you never know if it'll start raining again tomorrow.   Make hay while the sun shines... and that's never for long around here.

I did manage to sew my Libby bag before the good weather arrived.....

Remember I got the pattern from Clover and Violet.     Have to tell you this bag is a great size.    It would be fabulous as a beach bag... for those of you lucky enough to be going to a beach.

There are three great pockets along the front... perfect for your book... sunglasses... lotion... drink etc.   Masses of room inside for a towel and an itsy bitsy polka dot bikini if you happen to have one or.... if you are anything like me.... a full body camouflage suit.

I've spotted another gorgeous bag pattern too..... Sophie....  resistance is futile!

Anyhow... here's another shot of Libby hanging from a fence post in the garden

And a back view.....

I used a Moda charm pack of Verna by Kate Spain...... glad I've got a jelly roll of this fabric stashed too... I just love it.  Methinks I'll have to make a matching quilt soon.   Hey... then I'd have the perfect picnic combo.    If ever I finish cutting grass I might just be able to picnic on it.... if it isn't raining by then!

A few more hexies joined the pile of blooms too.....

Not a lot but some is better than none....right!

One of the reasons I'm working the land like a woman possessed is that Kitty arrives this weekend to spend a whole week here.   Now if I can just get ahead on the grass/weed/tree work before she gets here I can relax in good company and stitch till my hearts content.   I will do it or compost myself in the attempt!

In the meantine here's a random photo......

of a Thistle.  Well this is Scotland after all.     Sadly it is no more.... I strimmed it down this morning!   A sad case of wrong place... wrong woman to prickle!

Till next time.....

Greetings from the cold....cold... cold other side of the world! Your bag is grogeous, Verna is such an awesome range. I have some more charm packs and fat quarters stashed waiting for the 'right' project. Thanks for the Clover & Violet links - off to check them out now...... because like you, I need a new project.

Love the bag, Josie! I might make this one. I decided just today that I liked and needed another one with a pocket on the outside.*grin* Love the colours of the hexies, too. Hope you've cooled down a bit now. Autumn is in the air!
