It's started!

The New Year craft cave clean up is under way......

I didn't really plan to start it today.  It just sort of happened.  There is only so long you can ignore a mess before frustration sets in and there's no alternative but to sort it out or loose your marbles.

Look what turned up......

Remember these.....13 pairs of hand knit socks all with their little toe chimneys ready and waiting for grafting.        Talk about a shameful discovery.   My mum will kill me if she finds out I still haven't finished them off (she took my stash of sock wool and knitted up the whole lot).   I hate grafting toes..... but I'm scared of my mum so I reckon I'd better bite the bullet before she gets wind that they're not warming my tootsies this winter.

Pattern baskets are getting a long overdue sort out.......

More lovely finds that weren't really missing..... just miss placed......

The girls and I have a little retreat planned for the end of April.   We are having a whole week in a lovely cottage not too far from here.   I'm going to need a project I can really get my teeth into.... maybe one of these?

Well..... I for one have to say I'm glad to be getting back to normal after the festive season.   If you can call wrestling Mac to the ground to save the Christmas dinner 'festive'!    I don't recommend it as a party game.
This is what we should have been tucking into.....

A lovely traditional pork roast with all the trimmings.      Well..... Mac won!  After his alter ego went to work.....

we were left with  three pork chops and a months supply of of kebabs!!     Never again.   Next Christmas we're having cheese sandwiches.  What can go wrong with that.......don't even think of telling me!

Before I go....... this message is for you

I live in hope that one or two Wondrous Possibilities might find their way into my craft room too...

Hope you are having fun doing all the stuff you love.

See you soon..... I've resolved to 'talk' to you all more often this year.   The first person to groan gets a knuckle sandwich... right!    It pays not to mess with a woman on the edge!!  ;o))

Hugs to everyone....
Josie

Don't fancy eating my teeth so I shall say hoorah to you talking more in the future. The quilting retreat sounds like an excellent idea. You're not taking Mac to do the cooking then?!! Might have to venture into my sewing room, not sure that I shall find anything as exciting as 13 pairs of socks.

love your craft room, messiness and all. Hope there will be an after photo?
Look forward to more chatting and seeing those socks finished.
So if Mac channels the swedish chef do you channel Nigella?

I love your sewing space. Have fun cleaning it and a week long retreat, that will be a lot of fun. Which ever project you decide to work on will be fun (I also have both of those waiting, one day). Have a great day, hugs

Your room is fantastic! I have spent time over the holidays cleaning up my sewing room too. It was so messy I could hardly function in it!

What a beautiful sewing room. I had to laugh when I saw all those socks (sorry). Not good to be scared of your Mum - you'd better make a move on finishing off the socks.

Oh Josie, you make me laugh! If you fancy a trip to sunny Western Australia, my sewing room needs a tidy too.

Oh I an in envy over those socks. I am only just mastering knitting on 4 needles by knitting balls - yes balls & Christmas balls at that. I am hoping I will make my first pair of socks later this year though toe chimmneys & grafting has me pondering! At least cleaning a sewing room has the benefit of finding so many treasures. Nothing like a New Year to encourage a good tidy-up. It's always fun to find long forgotten goodies!! I'm sure you enjoyed your chops and kebabs even if you aren't admitting it! I do like the sound of Wondrous Possibilities - thanks for that!!

How fun to have an entire week in a cottage with some friends! I would love that. Your bins and baskets and shelves are fantastic. I'm a bit jealous. I really need to revamp my storage/organization for my stash and scraps, but so many other things demand my attention first.

Josie, you will do a good job on The Cave, gosh I am jealous of how much space you have. My Space is about the size of a car parking bay!

Hi Josie, Thanks for visiting my blog, nice to meet you! I've come for a look at your blog and OMG I think we are from the same mold??Or maybe mould...LOL. I love your sense of humor or is that humour??Not sure where you are yet.. Most of all, thank you for being real when you show your before pics. While perfect crafting rooms are nice, those of us who get right in to it know there can be chaos in there too! I will be making my way through more of your blog because I love what I have seen so far. debbie
